NOW OPEN - "DRAGONFLY" Zipline Adventure for Kids!; Created by your friends at Hocking Hills Canopy Tours, this zipline tour includes eight kid-friendly ziplines, four fun bridges. FRIDAY - Rose Lake Canoe Excursion - 7pm; Join the naturalist and the HOCKING HILLS CANOE LIVERY for a naturalist guided trip around Rose Lake. SATURDAY - New Moon Glow Float - 7pm to 11pm; Paddle your canoe from sunset to darkness, lit only by the glimmering phosphorescent light of glow sticks reflecting on the water. End at the livery with a roaring bonfire and lively music meant for listening and dancing. BYOB. Reservations highly recommended. One glow stick provided. SUNDAY - Big Boy Toy Day/Ridgetop Music Fest - 11am; Old cars, go kart races, a road rally, great food, really good music, and airplanes rides can all be had by those who attend Big Boy Toy Day/Ridgetop Music Fest at the Vinton County Airport this Sunday, August 19 with events beginning at 11 a.m. when the go carts run hot laps until noon. Races will begin at noon. The Sojourners youth organization will sponsor an old car show and also a road rally during the day. Be at the airport at 11 a.m. for registration. Airplane rides will also begin at 11 a.m. and at that time skydivers will float to the earth marking the beginning of the event. Food will be served also beginning at 11 a.m. and food service will continue throughout the day. The Ridgetop Music Fest will feature some new acts this year and will begin at 4 p.m. The event, as usual, will offer a Five Minutes of Fame section where members of the audience can perform and some new faces have emerged for this segment. Parking on airport grounds will be $10 per carload, but there is no admission charge to attend either event. Come and spend the day at the scenic Vinton County Airport. The Vinton County Airport is located six miles north of McArthur just off St. Rt. 93 on Airport Road. DAILY (Mon - Sat) The Columbus Washboard Company Museum and Gift Shop - There is so much history from our company and building's past that we wish to share it with everyone. The tour will not only provide historical information, but will also include the opportunity to observe the manufacturing of washboards, and participate in making music with the washboard. The factory will operate daily, as usual, with our washboards being produced one at a time by hand. We are the only manufacturer of washboards remaining in the United States. Our gift shop features our washboards, memorabilia and new line of vintage soaps. The Museum is a WiFi hotspot and offers snacks and beverages, for a place to relax and take care of business. SUNDAY - Big Boy Toy Day/Ridgetop Music Fest - 11am; Old cars, go kart races, a road rally, great food, really good music, and airplanes rides can all be had by those who attend Big Boy Toy Day/Ridgetop Music Fest at the Vinton County Airport this Sunday, August 19 with events beginning at 11 a.m. when the go carts run hot laps until noon. Races will begin at noon. The Sojourners youth organization will sponsor an old car show and also a road rally during the day. Be at the airport at 11 a.m. for registration. Airplane rides will also begin at 11 a.m. and at that time skydivers will float to the earth marking the beginning of the event. Food will be served also beginning at 11 a.m. and food service will continue throughout the day. The Ridgetop Music Fest will feature some new acts this year and will begin at 4 p.m. The event, as usual, will offer a Five Minutes of Fame section where members of the audience can perform and some new faces have emerged for this segment. Parking on airport grounds will be $10 per carload, but there is no admission charge to attend either event. Come and spend the day at the scenic Vinton County Airport. DAILY (Mon - Sat) The Columbus Washboard Company Museum and Gift Shop - There is so much history from our company and building's past that we wish to share it with everyone. The tour will not only provide historical information, but will also include the opportunity to observe the manufacturing of washboards, and participate in making music with the washboard. The factory will operate daily, as usual, with our washboards being produced one at a time by hand. We are the only manufacturer of washboards remaining in the United States. Our gift shop features our washboards, memorabilia and new line of vintage soaps. The Museum is a WiFi hotspot and offers snacks and beverages, for a place to relax and take care of business.
