US Navy Zeppelin Shenandoah at the Historical Society
Hocking County Historical Society, 64 N. Culver Street, Logan, 7 p.m.
Barry Harle will be August's guest speaker at the Hocking County Historical Society. Mr. Harle will be presenting the history of the US Zeppelin Shenandoah.  The US Zeppelin Shenandoah was the first of four United States Navy airships. On September 3, 1925, the US Shenandoah crashed in Noble County near Ava, Ohio. 14 men lost their lives in this tragic accident. On display will be historic photos, newspapers and actual pieces of the Shenandoah. FREE

Historic Lantern Tour of Ash Cave

Free Summer Concert Series with Wesley Bright & The Hi-Lites
Stuart's Opera House, 52 Public Square, Nelsonville, 5 - 9 p.m.
The last Friday of each month from June to September, Stuart's produces a free concert series in the Opera House parking lot, complete with a beer garden. Akron's own Wesley Bright and the Hi-Lites, who appeared at the 2014 Nelsonville Music Festival, will perform. In case of inclement weather, the show will move inside the venue. Cooking With Beer with Shaw's Restaurant and Inn - Demonstration

Our Cooking with Beer demonstration features Porter Pot Roast Sliders, Potato Salad with Belgian Ale Vinaigrette, Warm Prairie Ale Cake with dates and walnuts and Beer caramel sauce. Microbrew beers will be available for purchase. The classes are held in our Studio on the third floor of the Inn. The class ends with lunch paired with an optional glass of wine for a reasonable fee and a typed set of recipes for you to take home. Bottles of wine are available for purchase. All Caboose Train
Hocking Valley Scenic Railway, 33 W. Canal Street, Nelsonville, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
For the All Caboose Train, we will pull all of the cabooses that are privately-owned as each owner allows and operate our annual all-caboose. Usually we have about five cabooses in the train. Departing the Nelsonville Depot at 11 a.m., the train operates to East Logan and returns with photo run-by's where everyone has the opportunity to de-train and photograph the train passing by before re-boarding along the way. The train also includes a 30-minute stop at Robbins Crossing, a recreated 1850s-era Ohio pioneer village located on the campus of Hocking College. Seating is incredibly limited each caboose holds no more than ten people -- some are fewer than that, so be sure to reserve your seat as soon as possible. A great trip for any rail fan. Into the Woods Theatrical Performance

The Logan Theater Group presents this epic Brothers fairytale in an outdoor setting. TUESDAY AND SATURDAY - Lancaster Farmers Market - 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays in Government Services Parking Lot, 239 W Main St.; 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays in Kroger Parking Lot, East Main St. & Goslin Rd.  The Lancaster Farmers Market has more than 30 vendors throughout the season, which spans Tuesdays and Saturdays May to October. Each week our farmers and artisans bring a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, crafts, meat, flowers, eggs, and more.  The market takes place rain or shine. Come witness the epic life story of the legendary Shawnee leader as he struggles to defend his sacred homelands in the Ohio country during the late 1700s. The huge, outdoor stages of the Sugarloaf Mountain  Amphitheater afford the audience the ability to see everything. SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS through October 26 - Hocking Valley Scenic Railroad, Nelsonville, 2:30 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.; The Hocking Valley Scenic Railroad's East Logan train is the longest of the regular weekend trains. It departs the Nelsonville Depot for a round-trip ride along the historic Hocking River Valley. Along the way, we will pass through the historic company town of Haydenville, which was the last company town in Ohio. It was once part of a large brick and clay company known in its later days as NATCO. On the return trip to Nelsonville after pausing at the east end of Logan, the train continues past the Nelsonville Depot to Robbins Crossing. Robbins Crossing is a restored 1850s-era Ohio pioneer village operated by students, staff, and volunteers from Hocking College and is located at the south end of the Hocking College campus. After a 30-minute stop at Robbins Crossing, the train returns to the Nelsonville Depot. COST: $17 adults, $12 children.

DAILY - SALT AND PEPPER SHAKER MUSEUM AT FIDDLESTIX; View several hundred vintage figural salt and pepper shaker sets at Fiddlestix Village; 24180 St. Rt. 93 just south of the St. Rt. 56/93 intersection. A changing display of shaker sets are arranged by categories on shelves in three large windows. Groups include, various animals, people, holidays birds, fish, tools, buildings, vacation souvenirs and many more. Most of the sets are from the 1940s to the present. A smaller window hosts a monthly special exhibit. The best viewing time is between 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Viewers are invited at their own risk, and the exhibit is open unless there is snow or ice on the parking lot. DAILY - Paul A. Johnson Pencil Sharpener Museum - Monday - Saturday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Rev. Paul Johnson began his collection over 20 years ago. His Pencil Sharpener Museum, previously located at his home, has been moved to the Welcome Center and is open daily. This amazing collection of over 3400 pencil sharpeners has been featured in national magazines and is reputed to be the largest collection in the United States. DAILY (Monday - Saturday) - The Columbus Washboard Company Museum and Gift Shop - There is so much history from our company and building's past that we wish to share it with everyone. The tour will not only provide historical information, but will also include the opportunity to observe the manufacturing of washboards, and participate in making music with the washboard. The factory will operate daily, as usual, with our washboards being produced one at a time by hand. We are the only manufacturer of washboards remaining in the United States. Our gift shop features our washboards, memorabilia and new line of vintage soaps. The Museum is a WiFi hotspot and offers snacks and beverages, for a place to relax and take care of business. Tours will be offered Monday through Friday at 10 a.m., noon, and 2 p.m.; Saturdays by appointment. Special arrangements will be made for large groups.
