TUESDAY, September 24th - A Night of Song with Nicholas Nesbitt - 7:30pm to 8:30pm;
Tenor Nicholas Nesbitt will headline the upcoming concert, A Night of
Song, with a special guest appearance by Chase Stalford and accompaniment
by Jeff Daubenmire. Nesbitt is an Athens, Ohio resident who
received a Bachelor's degree in voice performance from DePauw University
and a Masters in voice performance from Indiana University. Mr. Nesbitt
has performed throughout the United States. Nicholas began the 2013
season with Crested Butte Music Festival and has performed with many
opera companies, including Central City Opera, Indianapolis Opera,
Cincinnati Opera, Sarasota Opera, and the International Vocal Arts

SATURDAY, September 28th - National Public Lands Day Volunteer Event - 9am to 4pm;
the Wayne National Forest and the Appalachian Ohio Weed Control
Partnership are seeking 20 volunteers to assist in a wetland restoration
project. The project is located in the Rutherford Wetland
area at the Ora E. Anderson Nature Trail in eastern Hocking County west
of Carbon Hill. Volunteers will assist in restoring the wetland
area through invasive plant removal and the planting of native plants.
Participants will also collect native plant seeds and conduct trail
maintenance. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Ora E. Anderson Nature
Trail parking lot at 9 a.m. Children under the age of 18 must be
accompanied by a guardian. Volunteers are urged to wear a long
sleeve shirt, long pants, boots, hat, sunscreen, and bring leather gloves
(extra gloves will be available) and insect repellent. Water will be
available, but bring your own container to refill. The Forest Service
suggests you bring a sack lunch or light snack. Register for this

and 2:30pm; Our Noon train to Haydenville is the shortest trip of our
trains. It operates every Saturday and Sunday between Memorial Day
weekend and the last full weekend of October. The train departs the
Nelsonville Depot for a round-trip ride along the historic Hocking River
Valley. On the return trip after pausing in Haydenville, the train
continues past the Nelsonville Depot to Robbins Crossing. Robbins
Crossing is a restored 1850s-era Ohio pioneer village operated by
students, staff, and volunteers from Hocking College and is located at
the south end of the Hocking College campus. After a 30-minute stop at
Robbins Crossing, the train returns to the Nelsonville Depot. Duration of
ride: Approximately one hour and forty-five minutes. Our East Logan train
is the longest of the regular weekend trains and operates every Saturday and
Sunday between Memorial Day and the last full weekend of October. The
train departs the Nelsonville Depot for a round-trip ride along the
historic Hocking River Valley. Along the way, we will pass through the
historic company town of Haydenville, which was the last company town in
Ohio. It was once part of a large brick and clay company known in its
later days as NATCO. On the return trip to Nelsonville after pausing at
the east end of Logan, the train continues past the Nelsonville Depot to

several hundred vintage figural salt and pepper shaker sets at Fiddlestix

DAILY (Mon - Sat) The Columbus Washboard Company Museum and
Gift Shop - There is so much history from our company and building's past
that we wish to share it with everyone. The tour will not only provide
historical information, but will also include the opportunity to observe
the manufacturing of washboards, and participate in making music with the
washboard. The factory will operate daily, as usual, with our washboards
being produced one at a time by hand. We are the only manufacturer of
washboards remaining in the United States. Our gift shop features our washboards,
