FRIDAY - Paul A. Johnson Pencil Sharpener Museum Grand Opening - 1pm dedication; The Paul A. Johnson Pencil Sharpener Museum will open in its new home at the Hocking Hills Regional Welcome Center. Rev. Paul Johnson began his collection over 20 years ago. His Pencil Sharpener Museum, previously located at his home, has been moved to the Welcome Center and will be open daily. This amazing collection of over 3400 pencil sharpeners has been featured in national magazines and is reputed to be the largest collection in the United States. Paul's wife, Charlotte, has graciously agreed to move the collection to the Welcome Center so more people will have the opportunity to view her late husband's amazing collection. FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY - Nelsonville Music Festival - begins Friday afternoon; Set in the beautiful rolling hills of Southeastern Ohio, the 7th Annual Nelsonville Music Festival is a three-day festival that celebrates music and local artistry of our region. SATURDAY - Warblers of the Gorge (for International Migratory Bird Day) - 9am; Join the Naturalist at the Naturalist Cabin behind Old Man's Cave Visitor Center for a 3-mile hike (6-mile round trip) to experience the return of the spring warblers and other avian species. Hocking Hills State Park is one of the best places for birding due to the unique ecosystem of the gorge, and this program is for beginner or long-time birders. This is a one-way hike to Cedar Falls (which is not for the easily-winded individual), and the Naturalist will then leave you to explore on your own. Hikers may return through the gorge on their own or arrange pick-up by friends at Cedar Falls. Bring along binoculars and a cool drink and come dressed for the weather. Saturday, May 14 - Country Music Jubilee - 7PM; Classic/new country, gospel and seasonal music the second Saturday of every month. The founder of Hocking Valley Canoe Livery recently passed away from an eight year battle with breast cancer. SATURDAY, May 21st - Hocking Hills Spring Poker Run 2011 - 9:30am to 6pm; The tour will begin at Lake Logan State Park Beach and end up at the Millstone BBQ. A Pancake Breakfast (included in your registration fee) will be available between 9:30-11:30 a.m. First bike out at 10 a.m., last bike out at 12 p.m. BBQ dinner at the Millstone from 3-6 p.m. (not included in registration). Last bike in at 5 p.m. and Winning Hand & Door Prizes will be awarded at 5:15 p.m.

Covering approximately 100 miles, motorcyclists or motorists will stop at many parks and lakes, including Ash Cave.
